How it works

  1. Drop a photo with good contrast (portrait, landscape).
  2. Pick the shape, size and thicknesses; the preview shows it against the light.
  3. Download the STL and print it standing up in white filament.

FAQ

How thick should a lithophane be?

Usually 0.6–0.8 mm for light areas and 3 mm for dark areas. The bigger the difference, the stronger the contrast.

Which material should I use?

White or natural PLA, printed at 100 % infill with thin layers. Avoid coloured or glossy filaments.

How do I make a lamp?

Pick “Cylinder”: the photo wraps around the cylinder. Put an LED in the middle.
