Image to 3D: from a picture to a printable STL
Drop an image of a character, an animal or an object: our AI sculpts a complete 3D model, makes it watertight and scales it to the size you want, ready to print.
Best results: one whole object or character, well lit, on a plain background. Very thin parts (wings, sails, fine hair) may disappear. Your image is only used to generate your model.
The 3D generator is temporarily unavailable. Please try again a bit later.
My 3D figures

Example: from an image to a printed dragon
This dragon was sculpted by our AI from the image in a little over 3 minutes, then closed into a watertight 150 mm solid. Its very thin wings were not rebuilt: thin membranes remain the main limit of the AI. To print it big, SplitSTL cuts it into parts with dowels.
1. The image
2. The printable 3D model
3. Split for a large printIs your model too big for your bed?
SplitSTL cuts it into printable parts with dowels or magnets, ready-to-print plates and an assembly guide. Free preview, first export free.
How it works
- Drop a sharp image of a single, whole subject on a plain background.
- Pick the final size and quality, then start the generation on our GPU (about 3 minutes).
- Download the watertight STL, or send it to the splitter to print it bigger than your bed.
FAQ
How do I turn a photo into an STL file?
Drop the image here: the TRELLIS.2 AI rebuilds the model in 3D, including the hidden sides, then SplitSTL closes it into a watertight solid and scales it in millimetres. The STL opens in every slicer.
Which images work best?
One whole object, character or animal, sharp and well lit, on a plain background. Drawings, 3D renders and photos of figurines work very well; scenes with several objects less so.
How much does it cost?
A figure costs the same as one export. The 30-day pass and the 1-year pass include up to 20 figures a month, with no subscription. If a generation fails, it is refunded.
